Sixteen heavy metals and other elements - K, Ca, Na, Mg, Cd, Hg, Pb, Fe, Co, Ni, Sb, As, Al, Cu, Zn and Mn - were studied in the west part of the Czech Republic on shoots one year acid four years old. Low differences in current year needles between the sites were found in K, Ca, Mg, Zn, Mn, Fe and the most important in Al. High differences were found in Hg, As and Ni. The decreasing tendency in K is very high in old needles and also in Mn. The accumulation of the following elements in old needles was found: Ca, Mg, Cu, Fe, Al, Pb, Cd, Sb, As.
