Remote sensing of the earth’s surface from satellites (RS) sets up many geographical databases that allow effective producing of geographic information using geographic information systems (GIS). Technological progress, which goes in hand with the developing RS and GIS, enriches this relation with a new dimension of practical use by the monitoring of natural systems and environment. The further development of the earth’s satellite monitoring is closely connected with the quality attained by satellite and processing systems, including GIS-based, which use satellite images/imageries to create great number of applications. Trends of the entire satellite systems development move towards cheaper spacecrafts orbiting the Earth in lower trajectories, with shorter life cycles, supplied however by sensors with higher geometrical and wider spectrum resolutions. With the increasing quality of satellite systems, the continuous remote sensing becomes more reliable with better prospects for the automation of increasing collection of multitemporal data.The trend to substitute satellite monitoring by the aircraft one is also relevant, which, in contrary to the satellite collection of data, is more accurate and precise with the increased using of digital sensors (optical, radar, laser), navigation devices and systems with the further the less supplemental ground (terrestrial) survey and collection of data.
