The paper presents the scheme and the content of the topic „Sustainable development”, The topic has been included to the study programme Environmental management on the Faculty of ecology and environmental sciences of the Technical University in Zvolen. The basic subdivision of the topic is to 2 blocks: the first block is oriented more theoretically, the second one is more practical, finishing with the semesterial project of each student.
