The author gave an analysis of certain quantitative-morphological parameters of the crown of spruce on three examples. He established that mainly in the years 1988 and 1989 came about to a sudden change in the dynamics of length of annual shoots, changes in dynamics of the volume of needles growing on them and also to the change of the volume of a needle. It means a sudden decrease of alimentary potential on which depends the growth and development of assimilative apparatus and of annual shoots in the next years. He points at interrelations between climatically negative years and between the more than double increase of forest damages in Slovakia during the last four years. If this trend would continue may be expected a sudden decrease of the already damaged stability of forests being influenced by more natural and anthropogenous factors.
