The morphometric variability of characters (length, height, width of the body) and Ellipsoid biovolume (EV) in 179 individuals (97 ♂, 82 ♀) of the species Carabus violaceus, during the years 2015 - 2017 in open habitats (meadow, fallow field) were evaluated. Friedman's test showed a shortening of the morphometric features length (p = 0.030), height (p = 0.016), width (p = 0.011) and EV (p = 0.037) in the direction of the rural-city gradient. The reduction in body size is influenced by the industrial area in the city. Spatial modeling (CCA) confirmed the delay of EV for the rural area during 2016, probably due to a change in food supply.
