cadmium is a non-essential trace element. High cd concentration can have toxic effects on organisms and mobile forms can transfer into vegetation and the food chain. The aim of the study is an evaluation of soil contamination by mobile forms of cadmium at Štiavnica river alluvium originating from mining activities. The content of cd as acetic acid extractable fraction varied among study sites from 1.71 to 7.28 mg.kg-1. All measured data exceeded limit value for cd (set up as a fraction possible to transfer from soil to plant) according to the decree no. 59/2013. Measured chemical properties indicate also relations between mobile fraction of cd and soil chemical and physical soil properties, mainly ph, soil organic carbon and clay content.
